Reykjavik has become the hottest destination for nightlife. But don’t get discourage if you don’t see any one downtown on the weekends between 9 pm and 11 pm. The party starts around midnight, after people leave private parties. Prices are high for coffee and alcohol: ISK 250 for coffee, and between ISK 450-650 for a beer. The Cafes and bars will serve food until 10 or at night, bars start charging entry fees around midnight. The fees are between ISK 500 – 1000. On the weekends bars close between 2 and 6 in the morning. Week nights the bars are open till 1 in the morning.
